PPS is a logical choice for a seamless computer system that can process permit purchases by sharing permit information with by-law enforcement departments via rugged handheld computers and wireless communications.
PPS is Microsoft Windows NT based and requires a minimal workstation configured with WIN 95/98/2000 client. The system includes many management reports and additional reports can be developed and customized by the client.
The actual permits can be either preprinted forms or printed completely using standard office laser printers. Some clients choose to use preprinted forms whereby the Parking Permit System will add permit owner specific information and a bar code (if required for scanning permit numbers) using standard office laser printers. |

Most importantly, permit information can be automatically downloaded daily to the enforcement department's hand held computers for the use of their officers when enforcing permit infractions. This extra convenience allows enforcement staff to verify the validity of permits by scanning the bar code using an integrated scanner on the hand held computers. This validation is crucial in identifying counterfit permits that are easily replicated using today's imaging technologies that are readily available to the public.
